Københavns Internationale Teater præsenterer Ny Cirkus Festival i august i de lige år med næste festival i 2014.
Ny cirkus blander discipliner fra traditionelt cirkus med formmæssige og æstetiske elementer fra teater, dans, performance, musik, billedkunst, m.m. KIT introducerede det danske publikum for genren i 1987, og siden da har ny cirkus været en fast del af sommerens festivaler. I 2005 blev det for første gang til en hel festival med fokus på ny cirkus. Se arkiv.
KIT samarbejder desuden med danske, nordiske og europæiske partnere for at udvikle ny cirkus gennem aktiviteter som workshops, seminarer, residencies, turnéer, showcases og publikationer. Se netværk.

Copenhagen International Theatre (KIT) presents Ny Cirkus Festival in August in even years. Next festival is in 2014.
Contemporary circus mixes disciplines from traditional circus with dramaturgical and aesthetic elements from theatre, dance, performance, music and visual arts. KIT introduced the genre to the Danish audience in 1987 and it has since been a part of our summer festival programme – in 2005 for the first time as an entire festival devoted to contemporary circus.
KIT also collaborates with Danish, Nordic and European partners to develop circus through workshops, seminars, residencies, tours, showcases and publications. See networks.

Bog: Introduction to Contemporary Circus
Så er den første bog om Ny Cirkus fra et nordisk perspektiv kommet fra trykken. Den er skrevet af Tomi Purovaara fra Cirko – Centre for New Circus i Helsinki og indeholder også et kapitel om dansk Ny Cirkus. Bogen er på engelsk og giver et glimrende indblik i genrens udviklinger og udtryk.
